MORINGA ACRES:Empowering Sustainable Enterprise through High-Quality Tree Plant-Based Products in MW

Moringa Acres is a business specializing in manufacturing and supplying high-quality tree plant-based products, such as Moringa, Neem, and Baobab.

Our mission is centered around producing exceptional plant-based products while ensuring a satisfactory return on investment. We are committed to employing sustainable technology and leveraging leading expertise to achieve this goal. Moreover, we seek to promote sustainable enterprise opportunities for smallholder farmers in Malawi while placing value on local resources.

Established in 2020 as a sole proprietary, Moringa Acres became an officially registered limited company in Malawi in January 2022. Mr. Manota Mphande, our main shareholder and founder, spearheads our operations. With four employees, including Mr. Mphande, an accountant, a sales and marketing officer, and a production technician, we are well-equipped to deliver exceptional products and services.

We cater to a diverse customer base, including wholesalers, retailers, pharmacies, and individual consumers who prefer natural, plant-based beauty, healthcare, and food-grade products. We focus on local, regional, and international markets and aim to meet the demand for high-quality tree plant-based products.

Our product portfolio encompasses Moringa Oil, Neem Oil, and Baobab Oil, as well as a variety of other items like soaps, lip balms, lotions, perfumes, deodorants, and face scrubs, all derived from Moringa, Neem, and Baobab. These products showcase the versatility and extensive applications of these valuable tree plants.

Currently headquartered at Nancholi Estate in Blantyre, Malawi, we plan to expand our production capabilities by constructing two additional facilities in Chikwawa and Salima by 2024. This expansion will further facilitate our growth and strengthen our position in the market.

To realize our growth plans, we aim to collaborate with over 500 smallholder tree plant farmers across Malawi. By so doing, we seek to become the primary supplier of locally manufactured Moringa, Neem, and Baobab-based products in Malawi and the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region. Additionally, we aspire to become the leading supplier of Neem oil to pharmacies within Malawi while establishing the country's first accredited Moringa Seed Oil producing factory.

Nevertheless, we face several challenges in our pursuit of success. The competitive market poses a significant hurdle, necessitating us to differentiate ourselves through superior quality and innovative offerings. Ensuring a consistent supply of high-quality raw materials from smallholder farmers is another crucial factor in maintaining our standards. We also recognize the importance of establishing a robust distribution network to reach our target market effectively. Compliance with regulations and standards is a priority, requiring us to stay updated and adapt accordingly. Finally, managing sustainable growth while simultaneously upholding quality and profitability remains an ongoing challenge for our business.

Exciting developments lie ahead for us. We are embarking on a new project to plant a two-hectare area of Moringa seeds in Salima. This initiative not only harnesses the numerous benefits of Moringa but also contributes to the region's agricultural growth and economic prosperity.

We place sustainability at the forefront of our manufacturing processes, utilizing sustainable technology to minimize our ecological footprint. By valuing local resources and supporting smallholder farmers, we actively promote sustainable enterprise in Malawi.

We received support from the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Institute (SMEDI). Through a sponsorship provided by SMEDI, we had the opportunity to participate in the prestigious Malawi International Trade Fair (MITF) held in Blantyre from 27th May to 26th May, 2023.

This sponsorship was instrumental in enabling Moringa Acres to present its products and services to a broader audience, including potential customers, investors, and industry experts. The trade fair served as a platform for the company to enhance its brand visibility and engage with key stakeholders within the industry.

Their sponsorship and support have played a vital role in enabling the company to forge strategic relationships and explore new business prospects.
