With financial support from USAID, through Alliance of Bioversity International and International Centre for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT), SMEDI has launched phase II of Business Acceleration for Youth (BA4Y) Project in Machinga and Mulanje districts. This ground-breaking initiative is geared to empower youth with a wide range of blended learning opportunities by equipping them with skills on design thinking, prototype development, enterprise analysis, financial planning, climate smart business models and business formalization. Framed around a business acceleration strategy, the project offers the youth access to grants. The project perfectly aligns with the Malawi 2063 First Ten Year Implementation Plan, notably the Private Sector Dynamism Enabler, as it seeks to create a highly competitive and knowledge-based SMEs sector and actively contribute to Malawi Government’s strategy for inclusive growth and job creation for the youth.
