      Small and Medium Enterprises Development Institute (SMEDI), a parastatal organization mandated to promote the development and growth of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) is looking for the services of a well-qualified, honest and highly experienced person to fill a vacant position of Stores Clerk (Grade SME 8) which is tenable at the Mponela Enterprise Development Centre in Mponela, Dowa. Applications are therefore invited from suitably qualified persons for the position whose details are as follows: Purpose of the Job To manage office supplies ensuring adequate stocks at all times while properly accounting for their movement. Qualifications and attributes · Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE); · CIPS Certificate in Purchasing and Supply or its equivalent. Those with higher qualifications shall have added advantage; · A minimum of two (2) years’ relevant work experience in a very busy work environment; · Knowledge in stores management · Computer literate; · Very good communication skills; · Team player. Selected duties and responsibilities · Receiving supplies and preparing necessary documentation; · Issuing and recording stock; · Ensuring complete and accurate up-to-date records on all supplies received or issued; · Monitoring stock levels to ensure timely replenishment; · Participating in stock taking activities. Applications with detailed curriculum vitae with at least three names of relevant and traceable referees that include an immediate past employer, should be sent to: The Chief Executive Officer, SMEDI, P/Bag 393, Lilongwe 3 to reach him not later than close of business on Friday, 25th March, 2022. In its current set up, SMEDI wholly owns SMEDI Leather Design Studio Limited , a private limited company incorporated under the Companies Act. SMEDI is therefore looking for the services of well-qualified and highly experienced persons to fill various vacant positions that are tenable at the SMEDI Leather Design Studio Limited which is located at Chatha in Chileka Blantyre. Details of the positions are as follows: 1) ACCOUNTANT Purpose of Job To provide accounting services for effective and efficient utilization of financial resources Qualifications and attributes Bachelor of Accountancy from a recognized and accredited tertiary institution. Those with full professional qualifications such as ACCA, CIMA, ACA shall have added advantage; · A minimum of three (3) years practical experience in a very busy office preferably in a production company incorporated under the Companies Act; · Sound knowledge of accounting requirements for a private limited company incorporated under the Companies Act; · Strong analytical and interpersonal skills; · Strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task and meet deadlines; · Self-starter; · High levels of honesty and integrity; · Excellent communication skills. Selected duties and responsibilities Processing payments according to established policies, procedures and budget; Preparing bank reconciliations; Participating in reviewing accounting systems, practices and procedures; Participating in the preparations of annual budgets and other related documents; Monitoring expenditure to avoid deviations and overruns; Maintaining books of accounts; Maintaining and updating fixed assets register; Preparing periodic management reports. 2) STORES CLERK Purpose of Job To manage office supplies and raw materials for production Qualifications and attributes · Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE); · CIPS Certificate in Purchasing and Supply or its equivalent. Those with higher qualifications shall have added advantage; · A minimum of two (2) years’ relevant practical work experience in a very busy work environment preferably those involved in production; · Knowledge in stores management · Computer literate; · Very good communication skills; · Team player. Selected duties and responsibilities · Receiving supplies and preparing necessary documentation; · Issuing and recording stock; · Ensuring complete and accurate up-to-date records of all supplies received or issued; · Monitoring stock levels to ensure timely replenishment; · Participating in stock taking activities. 3) PROCUREMENT CLERK Purpose of the Job To manage all procurement activities of the company Qualifications and attributes · Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE); · CIPS Certificate in Purchasing and Supply or its equivalent. Those with higher qualifications shall have added advantage; · A minimum of two (2) years’ relevant practical work experience in a very busy work environment preferably those involved in production; · Knowledge in procurement processes and procedures including public procurement laws and regulations; · Excellent numerical and analytical skills; · Computer literate; · Very good communication and report writing skills; · Preparation of periodic reports. Selected duties and responsibilities · Procuring goods/works and services in liaison with user departments or sections and in accordance with prevailing laws and regulations; · Preparing annual procurement plan and coordinating its implementation; · Preparation of Tender documents; · Providing Technical advice on procurement issues; · Inspecting goods and equipment supplied; Applications with detailed curriculum vitae with at least three names of relevant and traceable referees should be sent to: The Chief Executive Officer, SMEDI, Private Bag 393, Lilongwe 3 to reach him not later than close of business on Friday, 25th March, 2022 SMEDI IS AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER
